Ranked Graphic Design Software’s Part Two

This is the second part of a two-part blog about the top ranked design software’s and apps for computers and tablets, if you haven’t read part one you can check it out here!

We left off with the Adobe Creative Suite as the top ranked software for computers, and CorelDRAW came in second. The third ranked software is… Art Rage! I haven’t used this software, so this will be going off of The Top Ten’s recommendations. It seems Art Rage has similar tools to Photoshop, with brush tools being a major aspect of the software. There’s a very painterly look to a lot of work that’s been created with Art Rage. The main package will cost you $105.11.

TOP RANKED DESIGN APPS FOR TABLETS:

Now let’s get into the best apps for tablets out there! A lot of this is based off of Design Shack, and they aren’t in a specific order of best to worst, so all of the ones I will mention are worth trying out. First up is Autodesk Sketchbook, which Design Shack calls the most realistic drawing app available for iPad users. The tools have a natural feel to them and you can download the software on other devices and move projects around with ease. The product is free in the app store with in-app purchases.

The next two are Adobe Comp CC and Adobe Capture. Comp CC is meant for laying out ideas on your iPad by using assets from your library, and then you’re able to send that design to other Adobe apps. It is also free from the app store! I have used Adobe Capture and I really enjoy it. It’s meant for turning photos into vector graphics which can then be used on Adobe apps. It’s free from the app store with in-app purchases.

Last, but not least is Procreate! It’s an award winning app that many designers love. It has a huge selection of brushes to use and has high resolution. I’m very excited to try out this app because the work that comes from it is incredible. There’s also the Procreate Pocket 2 which is great for phones! The price for Procreate is $9.99 and the Pocket version is $6.99!
