New Facility for ACC

A new training facility is underway at Assiniboine Community College’s Victoria East Campus.

The announcement was made this morning.  A total of $640 000 was funded to ACC from industry partners and the federal & provincial government.

The program, Food Processing Centre for Animal Proteins (FPC), will commence next month.  FPC is an eleven month course.

President of ACC Mark Frison, was quoted to be extremely appreciative of the industry partners and the government for making the new facility possible.

The contributing industry partners are Maple Leaf Foods, Hylife, Manitoba Pork, UFCW Local 832, and The Brandon Hog & Livestock Show.


Funding for the Daly House Museum

The Wheat City’s very own Daly House is one of several museums throughout Westman that will be receiving additional funding by the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program.

A total of nearly $190 000 was raised by Westman communities and the provincial government.

Curator Eileen Trott plans to use the funding to maintain the artifacts at the Daly House.

A representative of the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program will be visiting the Museum tomorrow afternoon.

The Daly House joined the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program last year.
